Print Formats
Litho
By far the most common type of commercial printing. Used for longer run work when it is more cost effective to produce on a litho press rather than a digital press or when quality colour matching is an issue.
Digital
Digital printers work directly from electronic data and are very cost effective for short runs as there are relatively little make ready costs.
Flexographic
Commonly used in the packaging industry and to print such things as plastic bags, drinks cartons, and labels.
Silk screen
Usually used for large poster work and display material when printing to difficult surfaces such as clothing or plastic objects.
Gravure
Gravure is most often used for either very high quality or long run printing.
Giclee
Created typically using professional ink-jet printers producing incredibly detailed prints ideal for fine art and photographic markets.
